For my Dad's 60th birthday the whole family took a trip to Southern California. There was no way I was going out to SoCal without visiting one of my favorite breweries, Stone Brewing Co. It was our first big stop.

Upon leaving Stone Brewery, we discovered this wonderful motor vehicle. You can find good people everywhere.

Megan's brother lives out in Long Beach. He drove down to hang out with us for a day.

California bore us some excellent snacks: the elusive white Gatorade and the never before seen (only heard about in a children's rap song) Takis

Megan seriously reconsidered law school for the life of a surf bum.

We found these babies on the beach. They weren't too excited when we picked them up. Just kidding. We tried to take this photogenic beach photo with our niece and nephew. However, this kind of photo is more our style.

We also went to the San Diego Zoo. Megan was a wonderful aunt and took a turn pushing the little ones.

Monkeying around comes easy to me. Megan had a more difficult time focusing.

Just an average day pondering the great circle of life.

I saw this giant camel statue while we were at the zoo. The natural response for anyone when they see such a object is climb onto it.

Megan's favorite bird is the Flamingo. She was pumped that San Diego had so many.

Megan's favorite animal of all time though is the capybara. I don't have the heart to tell her they are just snacks for rain forest carnivores.

We joined a rookery of seals!
